5 day practical dog grooming course, a 5-day intense course covering all the practical elements of a full course but none of the theory, this mini-course is ideal as a starter point into the grooming industry, a sample week or as a fantastic refresher if you have been out of grooming for a while, this course would also suit college leavers that feel they need more practical on the job experience to put on their C.V when applying for roles within the industry.

A 10-day salon experience for the level 2 city and guilds grooming course for dog grooming assistants, this course is 10 days full of practical training including clipping which is teamed with the theory work, you will be expected to complete the full 180 hours and be expected to do assignments and homework tasks to be eligible to pass this course so please be aware that some home study is needed to complete the 180 GLH, tutor support is always available for your assignments.
Areas covered are as follows:
1)Preparing and grooming dogs prior to bathing
2) Bathing of dogs
3) Drying dogs and preparing a dog for styling
4) Carrying out trimming of a dog’s coat to
prepare for styling
5)Moving and lifting dogs
6) Maintaining the cleanliness and bio-security of the dog grooming environment
7) Professional conduct
8) An introduction to anatomical features, breed characteristics and behaviour of dogs.
There will be a practical assessment and a multiple-choice exam to pass this course.
Level 2 city and guilds for dog grooming assistants (10 days)

This 25-day course covers everything that is required if you want to become a professional dog groomer (you must have completed the C&G level 2 for dog grooming assistants before enrolling on this course), it covers every aspect of professional grooming the tools and how we use them, it totals 380 GLH of which is practical and theory, lots of it, please consider there will be assignments and homework tasks, you must put the hours into this course, tutor support is always available for your assignments.
This course includes:
1)Health and safety, legislation and codes of practice for the dog grooming industry
2)Styling and finishing a dog
3)Health checking and handing a dog in a dog grooming environment
4)Customer service and record keeping in a dog grooming environment.
City and Guilds level 3 Diploma in dog grooming

Only available for groomers already working in the grooming industry, and no actual practical training is given, this is purely building a portfolio on your own from our requirements, you must be able to supply a portfolio of grooms that we have asked for and complete the theory work as part of your evidence, we will tell you what coat types and styling is to be produced and you submit by pictures and videos of your grooms, if you don't already have a salon with a regular variety of dogs with different coat types, then the fast track is not for you, you will not be able to complete the course without this evidence.

The AIM Qualifications Level 3 Certificate in Dog Grooming has been designed for those who wish to learn the basic cuts and trims to be able to work in a grooming salon. The qualification covers assessing, planning, and recording grooming work, health checking dogs prior to grooming and essential first aid.
The qualification is made up of a range of theoretical and practical units related to canine health and wellbeing and cutting and trimming dogs’ coats. On successful completion of the Level 3 Certificate in Dog Grooming, learners may progress onto the Level 3 Diploma, any other Level 3 Canine care qualification or directly into employment in a dog grooming salon or similar environment.
Learners should be aged 16 or above, be working at level 2 and be comfortable around dogs of all sizes, breeds and temperaments. Assessment method(s): Assessment is through a Portfolio of Evidence/Workbook

The AIM Qualifications Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming is a flexible and thorough Qualification that will prepare learners to carry out practical grooming and care of dogs. Learners will gain knowledge of potential health issues for dogs and skills in canine first aid. The training is flexible with immaculate attention to detail and the balance between theory and practice reflects the current and future of the grooming industry. Objectives of the qualification This qualification can be used flexibly to meet learner needs. Depending on the context of the learning and the needs of each learner, the qualification can:
A) prepare individuals to progress to a qualification in the same subject area but at a higher level or requiring more specific knowledge, skills and understanding;
B) prepare learners for employment;
C) support a role in the workplace;
D) encourage engagement in learning.
This qualification has been designed to enable learners to:

It is a requirement that the assessment of this qualification is conducted in English. The AIM Qualifications Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming is accredited by Ofqual.
